We are the Memphis Memphis Chapter of The National Drifters, Incorporated. We were formally chartered Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the National Drifters Convention in Atlanta, GA.​​

We are a group of dynamic women with charitable, civic, educational, and social interests who have dedicated our talents to the enhancement and serice of our community and the universal image of womanhood.

We are committed to our national theme, which is to:

  • STRENGTHEN OUR FAMILIES

  • SAVE OUR CHILDREN

  • PROMOTE THE EDUCATION OF OUR YOUNG ADULTS

  • ASSIST OUR SENIORS

 

We know that when women join forces, we can change the world. We are powerful movers, shakers, and birthers of ideas. Today, we encourage you to join forces as we impact our communities.

 History of The Drifters, Inc.

 

The National Drifters, Inc. was conceived in Waco, Texas in 1954. By December, the first chapter was established in Chicago, Illinois. During the next two years, chapters were organized in Louisville, Kentucky, Indianapolis, Indiana, St. Louis, Missouri, New York and Greater Kansas City. The first and founding convention of The National Drifters, Inc. was hosted by the Chicago Chapter at the Sheraton-Chicago Hotel from October 11-13, 1957.

Over the years, The National Drifters, Inc. continues to be in the public focus – not only for our unique charitable, civic and social involvement – but also through our on-going commitment to serving as role models and to enhancing the universal image of womanhood in the cities where we reside. There ,  now thirty-seven (37) chapters of Drifters in twenty (20) states across the nation. Our 67th National Convention will be held August 2-6, 2023 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
